Non-farm payroll increased by 256,000 and the unemployment rate was 4.1%. The unemployment rate has hovered between 4.1% and 4.2% for the past 7 months. The average monthly increase in employment over the past 12 months has been 186,000. Job gains in December of 2024 were on par with the gains we saw on a monthly basis in 2023.
