In August, total non-farm jobs increased by 187,000 and the overall unemployment rate saw a slight uptick to 3.8%. This is less than the monthly average of 214,000 over the past year. Transportation and Warehousing employment rates have declined for the second month in a row now, while other sectors such as Healthcare and Construction have seen steady increases.
