Total non-farm job gains in July amounted to 187,000 and the overall unemployment rate dropped by .1% to 3.5%. Gains were seen in Government, Healthcare, Leisure and Hospitality, and Construction. Despite these upticks, the Transportation and Warehousing sector has seen a 200% decrease in employment on a month over month basis. In terms of payroll, there have been steady increases in hourly wages month over month, leading to a 4.4% annual wage increase since June of 2022, while inflation has dropped to 3% in the same time period.
